Set Up Your List of Appendices: Tutorial Handout

To complete this step you will need to open up the working copy of your business plan you created from the Shell™ in Step 2 of the Business Planner’s RoadMap.
Develop a short-list of the Appendices you consider relevant to your business. Now is a good time to take a look at a list of potential Appendices for your business plan and select the ones you will use.
- Go through the list of possible Appendices (see Assemble Your Appendices Steps 66 through 89). Determine which Elements are relevant, and make a short-list of those you will add to your business plan as supporting information. Download the Appendices Checklist for easy reference.
- Create a place to store the information for each category as you collect it. For example, you might use a file box with different files for each category.
- In the Business Plan Shell™, go through the Appendices Section and delete each Appendix you will not use; then update the Table of Contents using the Table of Contents (ToC) function in your word processor.
- As you gather the information for each Element of the Appendices, store it in the appropriate digital or hard-copy file as created in Step 4.
