Q: Is it preferable to copy the elements directly to use in my Executive Summary or is it better to rewrite or summarize?
Q: The worksheet for this step (Step 91, Worksheet 61) has a column for narrative/notes. I am unclear as to what goes into this column and where it will be used.

A: We recommend going through your business plan and first copying and pasting all of the relevant parts into a file or into the Executive Summary, then summarizing where it makes sense to do so. The intent of the Executive Summary is that it becomes an introduction or overview of the business plan, not a duplicate.
Q: The worksheet for this step (Step 91, Worksheet 61) has a column for narrative/notes. I am unclear as to what goes into this column and where it will be used.
A: The most likely method for doing Step 91 is to go through your business plan and copy the desired text directly into the Executive Summary in your business plan. In some cases you might copy the text into a different file in your word processor, make any revisions, and then copy it into the business plan. Doing it this way makes the worksheet redundant. However, here are some ways you might use the worksheet:
1. You might use it to make notes on each segment, for example, noting which page where it comes from in the business plan.
2. As a Coach, you might use it for training (have participants use it to make notes or to do a draft of their Executive Summaries).
3. Where computers are not an option, you might use the worksheet to hand write the Executive Summary.
