FAQs for Step 73: Include Letters of Reference
Reference letters require some effort on the part of the asker and the writer. That, along with the fact that they quickly become outdated, presents a bit of a weakness. In today’s fast paced workplace, it is definitely more expedient to provide contact information to enable direct communication. That said, some organizations or processes define whether or not you should include letters, contact info, or both. We recommend that you always provide the contact information, as long as you’ve gotten permission from the reference. Use your judgement as to whether or not to provide reference letters.
